A little context: Last week, I took part in the Modern Elder Academy’s Owning Wisdom Workshop at the Rising Circle Ranch just outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Well done, Jennifer! You captured the experience nicely!
Humans are memetic beings; we often don’t know what we want or what’s possible until we see it. We don’t know that it’s possible to share from the “3rd vault” (our authentic selves) until we see and experience others doing so. Then, it just might become contagious 🙏🏻
Thank you for taking the time to read it, Ron! You are right that seeing what’s possible opens up new horizons. That was definitely the case for me in Santa Fe in more ways than one. Oh, how I want to be a part of spreading that energy around! 🥰 Keeping you and your family in my heart. 💜
Bearing witness in community is a recurring theme for me in the last few years. It's one of those "sounds simple but it absolutely isn't" kinds of things. How do we find our tribe in the hustle of the day to day? How do we make space for it?
Someone along the way said "something will change for you when it becomes important enough. If you struggle, stop and start, or abandon it, it wasn't important enough." Perhaps one day it will be, perhaps it won't. but the single truth is - there a few things in the journey that we get glimpse into, and they never let us go.
For me - finding community - being witness, bearing witness in community. it's important enough these days.
Bob, thank you for reading! I love that you named community and bearing witness. The thought alone gives me goosebumps in the best possible way. I think I can say with confidence that I’m following your lead. It’s becoming important enough for me too, these days, and I am so glad to have you as a part of my community! Sending so much love! 💗
Jennifer!!! I am just in awe of how you so beautifully summed up a week that is hard to describe and so powerful. Thank you for sharing this with all of us and your substack. Miss you!
